Creating a Harmonious Blend of Nature and Wellness

The concept behind Nuilea Madrid Day Spa revolves around the idea of using organic geometry to optimize the spatial organization of the project. Taking inspiration from the vertical and linear elements of bamboo poles, Zooco Estudio has incorporated these elements throughout the design, particularly in the transition areas. This creates a sense of harmony and flow, allowing the space to cater to every need of the visitors.

The design of Nuilea Madrid Day Spa sets it apart from other retail spaces. The combination of a shop area, exhibition space, and massage rooms within a small area presented a challenge that Zooco Estudio successfully overcame. The use of bamboo for the floors and as a second skin for the walls creates a natural and relaxed ambiance. The bamboo poles, along with plastered walls, provide a unique texture and visual appeal.

Technologically, the realization of Nuilea Madrid Day Spa involved meticulous attention to detail. The entrance features an overhead marquee surrounded by horizontal bamboo sticks, giving visitors a glimpse of the project's essence. The shop and exhibition area are covered by the skin of bamboo poles, with varnished metallic iron shelves seamlessly integrated when necessary. The walls, plastered and illuminated with LEDs, create a soft and inviting atmosphere.

The specifications of Nuilea Madrid Day Spa further enhance its natural aesthetic. With a total area of 36 sqm, the design incorporates different shades of bamboo to delineate different spaces. The shop and resting area feature a lighter shade, while the massage rooms have a darker tone. Real and natural bamboo poles are used throughout the shop and resting area, maintaining consistency with the floor. Natural plants add to the overall nature-inspired theme, and neutral and earth tones create a soothing color palette.

Located in the heart of Madrid, Nuilea Madrid Day Spa took six months to design and construct. The design team, led by Zooco Estudio, meticulously researched and implemented various elements to create a serene and inviting atmosphere. The hammam, with its ceramic-coated walls, ceiling, seats, and floor, evokes the feeling of being in a cave, while the lighting intensifies the relaxed ambiance.

Nuilea Madrid Day Spa is not just a retail space; it is an immersive experience that promotes wellness and relaxation. The careful consideration of every aspect, from the choice of materials to the lighting design, ensures that visitors feel rejuvenated and at peace. Zooco Estudio's design has received recognition, winning the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 for its innovative and practical approach to interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
